What is FDN?

A Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P for short) is trained to identify the underlying root causes and conditions that result in disease instead of simply treating symptoms. Using functional lab work, FDNs recognize patterns of imbalance in the body and identify healing opportunities. We don’t medicate, we educate! We don’t guess, we test! Functional coaching involves a process of investigating and continuous course correction until optimal health is achieved, it is not a quick fix. FDNs build health by addressing the causal factors of disease, instead of merely attempting to silence the symptoms.

Do you know whats wrong with me?

Yes! You have malfunctions occurring in your body that are at the root of your health complaints and we can identify them using functional lab work. Most of my patients had no idea what was causing their health complaints…and neither did their doctors! This is because they have been chasing their symptoms for years as most health care providers can’t find the cause or don’t bother to even look for it. I use functional diagnostic lab work to identify underlying malfunctions and then use a holistic protocol to support that body’s ability to correct those malfunctions.

Can you help me?

Absolutely! As long as you are as committed to restoring your health as I am. My functional health protocols are based on finding healing opportunities, and not on just treating symptoms. It takes time to rebuild, repair and restore normal function to the body’s cells, organs or systems. Clients typically experience some improvements within weeks. But balancing body chemistry, detoxification, improving digestion and assimilation, and immune system boosting each come with challenges that require persistence and possible course corrections. Restoring hormone balance may happen quickly in some people and take more time in others due to how we each respond to our own chronic stress factors.

Has FDN helped others like me?

Most likely, yes! FDN practitioners have helped over 100,000 people reach their best level of health and maintain sustainable health. Many clients have found dramatic decrease in symptoms, even if they were previously diagnosed with chronic medical conditions. You can too!

Will my insurance company cover your services?

Unfortunately, the answer will most likely be no unless you have extensive coverage. We are lucky to have free ‘sick-care’ in Canada, but unfortunately the type of care you are offered is limited. There is currently minimal preventative and true ‘health-care’ in the conventional model.  As a nurse, I have seen how relying on the conventional model for health can end up in an ever-growing list of diagnoses and pharmaceuticals. Functional health coaching helps you to take control of your health before the need for medical intervention arises.

Am I a good fit to work with you?

We are likely a good fit to work together if-

  • You are ready to optimize your health through lifestyle modification, diet and supplemental protocols.
  • You are willing to invest in your health by purchasing the labs and supplements required to help find root causes and achieve your health goals.
  • You are sick and tired of not feeling yourself and you are ready to optimize your health for long term and sustainable improvements.
  • You are willing to work towards finding a personalized and natural approach to your health challenges as opposed to taking medications to suppress symptoms.

    * I only accept clients who are motivated to learn about holistic health and are willing to invest in themselves.

We might not be a good fit to work together if-
  • You are looking for a quick fix and expect immediate results.
  • You are unwilling to change your lifestyle habits, take any supplements or run any labs.
  • You don't believe that diet, rest, exercise, stress reduction and targeted supplementation can help your situation.

*I encourage my clients to only work with me when they truly feel ready for a change.
